As fall commences, I believe this to be one of the most lovely samplers (dare I say my favorite?) of all I've tried this year. This sampler totally encapsulates fall, Thanksgiving--it is truly a celebration of the season. My personal ranking of the scents: 1) Pistachio Vanilla Latte--this definitely was a top-tier scent for me--the vanilla and pistachio definitely hit you, and there is a raw sugar element of sweetness that is just wholesome and inviting, the nutty overlay marries very well with the rich and equally nutty coffee--truly a winner; 2) Pumpkin Spice Frappe--this too was nutty, but had a warmth and spiciness that reminded me of a pumpkin pie, or the interior of a Hallmark store--I would say the coffee was less distinct, but not in a bad way, if you like super warm, spicy scents, this one has your back; 3) Carmel Apple Cider--this smelled spot-on like apple cider, and reminded me again, of a Hallmark store (in a good way)--what was really great was contrasting this with the Pumpkin Spice Frappe--both were similar but different, this has a fruitier, fresh, yet equally warm and spicy scent, but the fruit is the main star of the show with this guy, it also reminded me of apple-picking; 4) Unicorn Frappe--this soap is beautiful to look at, it is a treat for the eyes as well as the nose--I was detecting an overlay of musk, a sort of fruity edge with the most subtle and delicate milk-y scent in the background, it's really a beautiful soap; 5) Taro Boba Tea--this soap hits you first with milk-y cream, and and then wraps around ever so slightly with an almost herbal/musk backsplash--it was more delicately scented, but again not in a bad way.
I just love R.S., and particularly these samplers. It gives you a wonderful representative sample of the maker as both artisian and soapmaker. I adored this collection!
