I always feel torn when it comes to my October collection. Do I lean into the autumn colors and fragrances? Make something completely new? This year was different. I had a very distinct fragrance vision, I knew what notes I wanted included, how I wanted the balance to strike when someone smelled it for the first time, the intensity of the color palette.....I just didn't know how to theme the collection.
Lucky for me, the Royalty Soaps Instagram followers love to lend a helping hand and together we picked the theme Into the Wilderness. Below is a sneak peak behind each fragrance!
Campfire Latte
Fragrance Notes : fresh-brewed coffee, cream, praline, and burnt sugar
Scent Strength : 2.5 / 5
What is a fall fragrance lineup without a touch of coffee? For this year's brew, I added a heavy amount of praline and and some burnt sugar notes to mellow out the coffee. Coffee can smell very bitter and acidic and my goal was to make a gentle coffee smell, something that wouldn't be overwhelming in someone's shower or bath area. This is one of the lighter scents in our October lineup, which feels funny to say about any coffee scent but it's the truth!

Enoki + Wild Moss
Fragrance Notes : Fresh Air, Forest Mushrooms, Green Moss, Japanese White Tea, and Ozone
Scent Strength : 4 / 5
This is a unique fragrance! I wanted someone to feel like they had just stepped into a forrest after a heavy rainfall. Distinct notes of herbaceous greens and the white tea top notes really make this scent interesting. This is a very complicated and elevated smell and something I would recommend if you're interested in branching out from your regular, comfort scents and into something more exotic. It's my personal favorite scent of the month and I would really like to add it to my standard product line!

Lavender Vanilla Oak
Fragrance Notes : Oak Trees, Wild Lavender, French Vanilla Beans, Powdery Musk
Scent Strength : 3 / 5
Reframing lavender seems like a simple move, but lavender is the #1 best-selling fragrance globally and there's a reason for that. It's grounding, it's calming, and it can be dressed up many different ways. This time, I've put the lavender in a rocky, mountain field surrounded by oak trees and a bit of green brush. I've also added in a touch of vanilla just to soften the blow (oak and lavender is pretty pungent) and round out the scent in a way that smells great in hot water.
Fun Fact : I test/smell my fragrances in hot showers to make sure they translate well for our application of cold process soap! Product application is a huge part of my testing process.

Pacific Rainfall
Fragrance Notes : petrichor, wild nettle, fresh rain, and amber
Scent Strength : 5 / 5
If you enjoy our Rainfall fragrance in our diamond soap, lotion, and perfume oil, you can think of this scent as its complicated older cousin. It's a bit stronger, the petrichor scent is doing the primary workload. What is petrichor? It means "the smell of the earth after rain" and as specific and unusual as that may sound, it's a fragrance every human is familiar with and something we can identify! This is another scent I would really like to use in a companion product, namely a body lotion because it's very grounding.

Woodsmoke + Saffron
Fragrance Notes : sandalwood, cedarwood, saffron, tobacco, smoke, bergamot
Scent Strength : 4 / 5
