Blood Orange Diamond Soap

I am giving this soap a 3, and let me explain why. Out of the box, it smelled divine. Very citrusy and fruity, overall amazing smelling. I was so excited to use it! However, the moment I did... lathering up my net sponge left a sudsy black residue on it. I figured it was just the little specks in the bar, and thought nothing of it. Once washing with the soap, it did not smell the same way. It honestly had a chemically scent... and left my skin smelling similar. Maybe it's just my body being wired to not enjoying that scent profile after it's been wet and lathered. It makes me really sad because I was HOPING to find a bar soap I really enjoyed, but now I'm sad that it'll be forever sitting in my shower unused / for a day where I might run out of soap and couldn't go to the store. I'm not sure where to really go from here, as I'd like to try other soaps but now I'm uncertain, feel like I've wasted money, and am scared to possibly waste more.

I got 4 bars of my husbands favorite soap, Diamond blood orange for him for our anniversary! He was smiling so big as he brought the parcel in from the car after picking up the mail that day, sniffing the box of soaps :) telling me that I spoil him!

I ended up buying more of these than I expected. The smell is strong and amazing. We gave the first as a gift, but she did not use it as she loved it. We had to give her a second bar so she would use it. Great on the hands!

It smells /so/ good and I was so surprised how soft it left my hands after using it!

I have never sniffed a blood orange before either but it does smell like an expensive vitamin C smoothie. I have it in my kitchen and it makes the sink area smell fresh. It's strong but not as strong as Mediterranean Fig, in my opinion. It also tickles me that it looks like an absolute unit chunk of watermelon.
